I enjoyed this book much more than Lady,s Revenge by the same author. Good mystery, lots of suspense and very romantic. I thoroughly enjoyed it
Not an affectionato of this genre. I found it hard to follow, apply the soliloquies with the actual story line.
I really enjoyed the story line. The little girl was so sweet and shows the need every little girl has for a father figure.
I didn't understand why this novel was so well reviewed. The characters were cardboard cutouts to me. If you didn't read the first one in the series (as I didn't); don't worry, enough is re-told to catch you up on that----if there is a third one, save your money for it; chances are it will re-tell "Check-mate" for you....

I started Tracey Devlyn's "Checkmate, My Lord" on Friday and finished it in one day! Awesome read! Tracey tells a wonderful story about a mother's love for her daughter and the search for justice in the death of her husband...Of course, her determination lands her right in the middle of a battle amongst spies and, even more intriguing...in bed with a man who she is falling in love with but fears may be the reason her husband was murdered. Fantastic...can't put down story!
This book is a GREAT BOOK,I will read this book again and again.I am going to look for more books from this author and read them too.
